Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the Advice for Small Businesses Programme, which aims to provide advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Analyst will engage in various activities including project initiation, structuring, execution, and monitoring. This role requires collaboration with clients to assess their business needs and identify areas for advisory support. The Analyst will also be responsible for developing project scopes and identifying suitable consultants for assignments. The position demands a proactive approach to business development and the ability to work closely with senior team members to ensure alignment with the strategic priorities of the Bank and the SME Finance and Development Business Group.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be tasked with delivering various instruments and activities under the Advice for Small Businesses Programme, ensuring compliance with the Bank's policies and donor requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting financial analyses of clients, structuring impactful advisory support, and contributing to business development efforts. The Analyst will monitor portfolio companies, assess their performance, and identify opportunities for follow-up support. Additionally, the role involves preparing reports for donors, managing documentation for local payments, and implementing marketing activities to promote the programme. The Analyst will also broaden the pool of local consultants and support the Principal Manager in developing internal and donor reports.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, along with strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and conduct financial analyses. Project management and organizational skills are essential, as well as effective communication and negotiation abilities. The role requires fluency in English and the local language of operations, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in writing project proposals and reports is desirable, and candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the EBRD's mandate and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance is required for this position. Equivalent work experience may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis and business advisory services, which are critical for the Analyst role.
Experience: Relevant professional experience is preferred, ideally from commercial management consultancy, development institutions, or financial institutions. Candidates should have a good understanding of EBRD’s strategic SME priority areas, such as green economy, economic inclusion, and digitalization. Experience in the local business environment and knowledge of the consultancy market are essential for success in this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Additionally, fluency in the local language of operations is essential to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years, with the possibility of temporary relocation to Warsaw, Poland. EBRD may allow eligible candidates to work from Ukraine if relocation is not feasible due to personal reasons. The role is full-time and involves responsibilities that require travel within the country and internationally.
