Job Overview: The Data Collector – DIEM Survey position is crucial for the successful execution of field data collection activities. The role involves overseeing the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring that all data is gathered in accordance with established protocols and quality standards. The Data Collector will be responsible for training enumerators, guiding them in data collection processes, and ensuring that all collected data is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both field teams and project management. The Data Collector will also be involved in preparing progress reports and maintaining organized records of field activities, which are essential for monitoring project progress and outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Data Collector will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including: attending and actively participating in training sessions prior to fieldwork; organizing and overseeing enumerator training and participation; guiding enumerators in the collection of baseline and monitoring data; supervising the collection of qualitative and quantitative data, including assessments post-distribution and post-training; collecting agricultural market information as needed; reviewing data for completeness and accuracy before submission; ensuring timely submission of completed questionnaires and field notes; maintaining organized records of all field activities; preparing periodic progress reports summarizing field findings and challenges; documenting community consultations and stakeholder meetings; contributing to the development of input distribution plans; ensuring proper archiving of project-related documents; informing beneficiaries about accountability mechanisms; recording and addressing complaints and feedback from beneficiaries; facilitating training and capacity-building activities; coordinating with field teams for smooth implementation of activities; and performing other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: a university degree with a proven ability to learn quickly and manage multidisciplinary tasks efficiently; at least 5 years of relevant experience in managing field operations, data collection, and administrative coordination; strong proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and timely reporting; working knowledge (Level C) of English and Bangla; and must be a national of Bangladesh. Additionally, candidates should possess strong project management skills, financial management proficiency, and experience with FAO systems such as FPMIS, Supply Wizard, and GRMS.
