Job Overview: The PSEAH Support Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) within the IOM Pakistan mission. This position involves working closely with the PSEAH Project Coordinator to implement various activities aimed at enhancing awareness and capacity building related to PSEA. The officer will be responsible for conducting surveys and consultations to assess the needs for learning and communication strategies, which will inform the development of the 2026 PSEAH and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) Work Plan. The role requires collaboration with PSEAH focal points to design and implement training plans across different departments, ensuring that all staff and partners are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to SEA. Additionally, the officer will be tasked with developing monitoring and documentation efforts to track progress and identify best practices in PSEAH implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The PSEAH Support Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: conducting surveys and consultations with PSEAH focal points and staff to assess learning needs; supporting the design of unit-level work plans and training plans; developing capacity-building monitoring frameworks; designing and rolling out PSEAH training plans; mapping community feedback mechanisms (CFMs) and reporting on gaps; creating contextually appropriate communication strategies; and preparing a final report summarizing key achievements and recommendations. The officer will also be expected to perform any other duties assigned by the PSEAH Project Coordinator, ensuring that all activities align with IOM's mission and objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, Law, Human Rights, Development Studies, Psychology, Social Science, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with two years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a University degree in the aforementioned fields with four years of relevant experience is acceptable. The ideal candidate will have experience in PSEAH, safeguarding, and humanitarian affairs, as well as a proven track record in organizing and facilitating training sessions. Knowledge of IOM’s institutional approach to PSEAH and related policies is essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, Law, Human Rights, Development Studies, Psychology, or Social Science is required. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in these fields must have additional years of relevant experience to qualify for the position. The educational background should reflect a strong understanding of the principles and practices related to protection and humanitarian response.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in areas related to PSEAH, safeguarding, and humanitarian affairs. Experience in organizing and facilitating training sessions, particularly in capacity-building contexts, is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a working knowledge of the UN system and experience with operational UN agencies or major international NGOs, particularly in the field of protection and assistance for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and migrants.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Urdu is mandatory, with knowledge of other regional languages considered an asset. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process through written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: The position may require regular field travel to various provinces and partner sites to conduct trainings. The appointment is subject to funding confirmation and the candidate's medical fitness for the role. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses under its Compensation Plan, but does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational incidents.
