Job Overview:
The National Consultant - Financial Advisory Support Services position is designed to provide expert financial advisory services to support various projects and initiatives under the UNDP in Bangladesh. The consultant will be expected to engage in a range of analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, strategic planning, and advisory roles to enhance the financial management capabilities of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of financial systems, policies, and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The consultant will work closely with UNDP teams to ensure that financial strategies align with the overall goals of the organization and contribute to the successful implementation of development projects. The assignment is structured over a period of 180 working days spread across three years, allowing for a comprehensive engagement with ongoing and future projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant include, but are not limited to: conducting financial assessments and audits of ongoing projects; providing strategic financial advice to project managers; developing financial models and forecasts; assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial reports; ensuring compliance with UNDP financial regulations and policies; conducting training sessions for staff on financial management best practices; collaborating with other consultants and stakeholders to enhance financial processes; and preparing detailed reports and presentations on financial performance and recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in finance, accounting, or a related field. A proven track record of providing financial advisory services, particularly in a development context, is essential. Familiarity with UNDP's financial policies and procedures is highly desirable. The consultant should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CPA or CFA) is preferred and will be considered an asset. The educational background should reflect a solid understanding of financial principles and practices relevant to the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in financial advisory services, financial management, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in a consulting capacity, is highly advantageous. The consultant should have a demonstrated ability to manage complex financial projects and provide strategic insights that drive organizational success.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration is set for 180 working days over a period of three years. The consultant will be expected to work flexibly, adapting to the needs of the projects and the UNDP's operational requirements.
