Job Overview:
The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Analyst, supporting various activities related to resource mobilization and partnerships at UNFPA Türkiye Country Office. The role involves assisting in donor and partner mapping, proposal development, and creating advocacy materials for both donors and private sector partnerships. The intern will engage in a structured work-plan that outlines achievements and learning opportunities throughout the internship. Regular progress meetings will be held to foster a beneficial environment for skill enhancement and capacity building in areas aligned with UNFPA’s mission. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in resource mobilization and partnership development within a prominent international organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the analysis of data and information regarding resource mobilization progress; conducting research on the presence, interests, and application requirements of key donors and funding sources; developing and maintaining a comprehensive contact list of donors and partners; supporting the drafting and submission of concept notes and project proposals; contributing to the development of knowledge products related to partnerships; monitoring both soft and hard pipelines for resource mobilization; organizing events related to resource mobilization and partnerships, including donor briefings; drafting meeting minutes from discussions with donors and partners and maintaining an organized archive of communications; preparing donor reports; and performing any other relevant tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a first university degree program (such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent) and have completed at least one full academic year, or be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (such as a master’s program or higher). Recent graduates with a relevant university degree who can start the internship within one year of graduation are also eligible. Additionally, candidates enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program can undertake the internship as part of their training. An expressed interest in resource mobilization and partnership building is essential, along with demonstrable experience working with development agencies, including volunteer work. Strong analytical and writing skills, as well as the ability to adapt to new environments and establish good working relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being enrolled in a first university degree program (such as a bachelor’s degree) and having completed one full academic year, or being enrolled in a postgraduate degree program. Recent graduates with a relevant degree who can start the internship within one year of graduation are also eligible. Alternatively, candidates may be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program and undertake the internship as part of this program.

Experience:
Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in resource mobilization and partnerships, along with relevant experience working with development agencies, which may include volunteer roles. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats are essential. Experience in multicultural settings and the ability to adapt to new environments will be beneficial for this position.

Languages:
Proficiency in both English and Turkish is mandatory for this position, as the intern will be required to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. The costs associated with the internship must be covered either by the nominating institution or by the interns themselves, who will need to manage their living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other requirements. However, interns may receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses if they are not financially supported by any institution or program. The stipend amount varies based on the duty station. Additionally, interns are required to have medical insurance for the duration of the internship, and proof of insurance must be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.
