Job Overview:
The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Humanitarian Programme Manager at UNFPA Türkiye CO, focusing on supporting operations and implementation activities related to service provision and information management. The internship is designed to provide a structured work-plan with specific achievements and learning opportunities agreed upon at the start. Regular progress meetings will be held to ensure a beneficial environment for the intern, enhancing their skills and capacity in areas related to UNFPA’s mandate. The intern will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall mission of UNFPA, including data management, document preparation, and communication with partners, thereby gaining valuable insights into the workings of a major UN agency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: collecting, verifying, and cleaning programme data to ensure accuracy for reporting purposes; maintaining online data collection tools, databases, and digital filing systems; drafting, editing, and formatting programme documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); translating and editing technical documents between English and Turkish; communicating with Implementing Partners (IPs); providing training on data collection tools to end users; adhering to data protection protocols and confidentiality standards; and performing any other relevant administrative tasks as required by the supervisor. These responsibilities are designed to provide the intern with hands-on experience in data management and program implementation within a humanitarian context.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications: be enrolled in a first university degree programme (such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent) and have completed one full academic year; be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme or higher); have recently graduated with a university degree and must start the internship within one year of graduation; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme. Additionally, candidates should possess a good command of MS Excel and Google Sheets, familiarity with data collection tools, and experience with data visualization tools is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being enrolled in a university degree programme, either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. Candidates should have completed at least one full academic year of their studies or have recently graduated. This educational requirement ensures that the intern has a foundational understanding of the principles and practices relevant to the work they will be undertaking at UNFPA.

Experience:
The level of experience required for this internship is relatively flexible, as it is primarily aimed at students or recent graduates. Candidates should have a good command of data management tools and techniques, as well as familiarity with data collection and visualization tools. While prior work experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience in data management, research, or humanitarian work will be considered advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and partners involved in UNFPA's programs.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. Interns are responsible for their living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other requirements. However, they may receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses if not financially supported by any institution or program. The stipend amount varies according to the duty station. Additionally, interns must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship, and proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.
