Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer Associate Registration Officer will work under the supervision of the Senior Durable Solutions Officer or their designated representative. This position involves assisting in the implementation of registration, enrollment, and digital identity strategies for the individuals served by UNHCR. The officer will ensure compliance with global and regional protection and inclusion objectives, meeting relevant standards while implementing appropriate methodologies and technologies. The role requires providing technical support to staff on planned registration and digital identity management activities, contributing to the development and dissemination of operational guidance, and designing procedures for quality assurance of registration data. The officer will also assist in strengthening internal capacity for registration and identity management, liaising with government counterparts and partners to promote fair and efficient registration processes. The position demands a commitment to collecting reliable data and conducting analysis related to registration and identity management, as well as monitoring and reporting on activities at the regional and country levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the UN Volunteer Associate Registration Officer include:
  • Assisting in the implementation of registration and digital identity strategies, ensuring compliance with global and regional objectives.
  • Providing technical support to staff on registration and identity management activities.
  • Contributing to the development of operational guidance and capacity-development initiatives.
  • Designing procedures for quality assurance of registration data and conducting regular audits.
  • Supporting the establishment of internal capacity for registration and identity management.
  • Liaising with the Digital Identity and Registration Section to facilitate activities in the region.
  • Supporting government authorities in strengthening registration and identification procedures.
  • Establishing linkages with partners for effective case and data management.
  • Supporting negotiations related to interoperability of digital identification systems. 1
  • Engaging with various stakeholders to promote the inclusion of refugees in population registers. 1
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to registration and identity management. 1

Required Qualifications:
