The Revenue and Product Development (RPM) Section, part of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), is responsible for the organization's revenue-generating activities, which include events, publications, databases, websites, training, implementation services, and printing. These activities are aligned with ICAO's Strategic Goals and support related programs.

Job Overview:
The Graphic Designer will play a crucial role within the marketing team of ICAO, reporting to the Head of Marketing. This position involves developing, producing, and delivering designs for branding, marketing, sales, and promotional materials for ICAO events, products, and services. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for supporting the development of ICAO branding, designing marketing materials for events, and providing graphic design support for ICAO products and services. The role requires a blend of creativity and technical skills, as the designer will need to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure that all designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations. The Graphic Designer will also be involved in creating promotional videos and digital materials for ICAO's online platforms, ensuring that all outputs are aligned with ICAO's mission and branding guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support in the Development of ICAO Branding: Research and analyze the identity and positioning of ICAO products and services requiring branding initiatives. Design and produce visual identities for these products and services, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and brand expectations. Collaborate with the design team and internal stakeholders to meet project deadlines and budgets. Update the brand book for completed branding exercises and ensure adherence to ICAO brand guidelines. Provide design support for email templates.
  • Design and Support Marketing, Sales, and Promotional Material for ICAO Events: Produce event signatures and assist in designing visuals for events. Develop marketing kits, including web banners, flyers, email signatures, and social media images. Create event programs, content for event apps, booth designs, and onsite branding materials. Support ICAO virtual events by creating digital materials and promotional videos.
  • Provide Graphic Design Support for ICAO Products and Services: Produce creative graphics that align with campaign messages while ensuring accurate branding. Collaborate with marketers and senior designers to develop promotional materials for ICAO Store and ICAO eLibrary products. Manage stock photography selection and archiving of assets.
  • Provide Graphic Design and Video Support for UnitingAviation.com and ICAO TV Platforms: Create rich media to support these platforms, develop media kits, and produce newsletters. Edit videos for ICAO TV and support live streaming setups.
  • File Organization and Mandatory Training: Ensure files are organized according to established structures and complete all mandatory training during the service period. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Essential qualifications include a minimum of two years of experience as a graphic designer in areas such as corporate branding, product branding, user experience, user interface (UI/UX), digital product design, and digital marketing. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere) is required, along with knowledge of web design standards and best practices. Experience in video editing and production, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, is essential. Strong team collaboration skills, time management abilities, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset are also necessary. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of HTML5, CSS, WordPress CMS, and an understanding of aviation-related customer needs.

Educational Background:
The essential educational background required for this position is a college degree in graphic design, video production, or fine arts. A first-level university degree in graphic design or fine arts is desirable, along with additional professional certificates in design, web development, and video production as assets.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience as a graphic designer, specifically in corporate branding, product branding, user experience, user interface (UI/UX), digital product design, and digital marketing. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Languages:
Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English are essential for this position. A working knowledge of any other language of the Organization, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and would be an asset.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy position is a fixed 11-month contract with the possibility of extension based on performance, business needs, and budget availability. As a consultant, the position does not include paid vacation/holiday days, insurance, or pension benefits. Compensation is provided at a daily rate of CAD 186 to CAD 210, net. The consultant is expected to work five days a week on a full-time basis (9 AM - 5 PM) and must be present in the Montreal office for a minimum of three days a week. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to support conferences and events. Employment income from UN agencies is tax-exempt in Canada.
