Job Overview: The Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading the production of external communications for Relief International’s Palestine program, which operates in a highly complex and politically sensitive humanitarian environment. This position involves designing, driving, and overseeing the implementation of a comprehensive Communication Strategy that aligns with Relief International’s humanitarian objectives while amplifying the voices and needs of conflict-affected Palestinians. The Communications Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting and guiding both internal and external communications, engaging directly with relevant stakeholders to elevate the visibility and impact of Relief International's work.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: coordinating with the HQ Communication Team on media engagements and branding; developing and managing country-level external communications guidelines and protocols; leading the development of a comprehensive communication strategy for Relief International’s work in Palestine in collaboration with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director; coordinating with field teams and contracted media companies to identify and produce high-quality communication products; regularly assessing reputational and operational risks associated with communication outputs; providing technical leadership and mentoring to staff involved in communications work; overseeing the development of content such as case studies, visibility products, and campaign materials; ensuring quality assurance and strategic relevance of all communication outputs; monitoring team performance, providing feedback, and building capacity as needed; and promoting a collaborative and accountable team culture that aligns with Relief International’s values.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Political Science, Journalism, International Development, Law, or a related field. Substantial experience in communications is essential, particularly within humanitarian settings. Excellent writing and editing skills are required, along with the ability to produce strategic communication products. A good understanding of the Palestinian humanitarian context is also necessary, as well as strong interpersonal, coordination, and relationship-building skills.
