Job Overview:
The consultancy position focuses on Front-End Development and UI-UX design, specifically for the Zoonotic Diseases Integrated Action (ZODIAC) project. The consultant will work closely with agile teams to deliver web-based software solutions that meet the business needs of clients while adhering to the IAEA's technology standards. The role involves proposing front-end solution designs, advising development teams on software implementation, and performing technical quality assurance. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring a strong user experience through effective design and development practices, collaborating with various stakeholders including field operators and laboratory technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key activities in collaboration with the Animal Production and Health Section team. These include developing a unified workflow that caters to all end-user roles, with a strong emphasis on user experience design. The consultant will also be responsible for developing a secure and scalable backend database and data model, designing and implementing scalable services and APIs, leading front-end development and UI/UX for all modules, coordinating testing with field operators and laboratory technicians, and producing robust documentation for every process of the application, particularly for front-end architecture and design components.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (bachelor) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. They should have a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in frontend development using technologies such as Typescript, JavaScript, React JS, and Vue JS. Additionally, candidates must have at least one year of experience in data visualization and reporting, as well as experience in creating responsive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Experience in mobile-first development and component-based design is also required, along with proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation in technical skills and knowledge relevant to the role, particularly in software development and data management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in frontend development, with a strong emphasis on UI-UX design. Candidates should also have at least one year of experience in data visualization and reporting, as well as experience in mobile-first development and creating responsive web interfaces. Experience working in agile teams is essential, as the consultant will be collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver web-based software solutions.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy offers a daily fee of up to a maximum of €150, depending on qualifications and experience. If duty travel is required, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs will be provided. Health coverage and pension fund responsibilities lie with the incumbent. The position is likely to be full-time and may involve collaboration with international teams.
