Job Overview: The Supply Chain Assistant / Driver position at the Danish Refugee Council is a critical role that supports the operational efficiency of the organization in Libya. Under the direct supervision of the DRC Area Manager and technical supervision of the Supply Chain Specialist, the individual in this role will be responsible for a variety of supply chain tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the office. This includes overseeing the Guest House and office maintenance, performing physical checks on stock movements, and facilitating small procurement operations. The role also requires the individual to drive staff and supplies safely, ensuring that all transportation needs are met efficiently. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with key staff and suppliers to maintain effective procurement streams, thereby contributing to the overall mission of the DRC in providing humanitarian assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Supply Chain Assistant / Driver include:
Driving and Vehicle-Related Duties: - Safely transport DRC staff and visitors to designated locations. - Conduct daily checks on vehicle conditions and ensure regular maintenance and cleanliness. - Maintain accurate records of vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities. - Participate in the preparation of the monthly fleet report. - Collect and drop off DRC staff and visitors at the airport and other locations in Tripoli.
Office and Guesthouse Management: - Monitor and supervise cleaning duties for the office and guesthouse. - Ensure a constant supply of drinking water, tea, coffee, and cleaning products, coordinating with the supply chain specialist for replenishment orders. - Oversee maintenance work in DRC facilities and report completion to the Supply Chain Specialist.
Clerical Office Duties: - Provide clerical support, including printing, photocopying, scanning, data entry, and filing. - Manage and record office supplies and stationery, ensuring timely ordering when stock is low.
Procurement: - Assist in the low-value procurement process, liaising with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. - Ensure that goods are received in good condition and stored securely.
Warehouse Management: - Perform physical entries and destocking operations in the DRC warehouse, reporting updates to the supply chain specialist.
Hotel/Venue Requirements: - Collaborate with the Supply Chain Specialist to organize workshops, training, accommodation, and venue reservations as needed.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for the Supply Chain Assistant / Driver position, candidates must possess the following qualifications: - At least 1 year of practical experience in a similar role with international NGOs, donors, or UN agencies. - Proven experience in supporting logistic and administrative tasks. - Previous training in safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security is an asset. - Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit. - A valid driving license in Libya, held for more than 5 years. - Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic is essential.
