Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The WASH Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: facilitating regular operational coordination meetings, establishing contacts with relevant authorities and local civil society, ensuring linkages with other sub-national cluster focal points, conducting regular analysis of needs and response data, coordinating with humanitarian actors to respond to WASH emergencies, and disseminating information among cluster members. The role also involves preparing contingency plans, contributing to national processes, and supporting knowledge management for programs. The WASH Coordinator will monitor program implementation, evaluate progress, and ensure that funds are optimally used. Additionally, the incumbent will support capacity building efforts among WASH Cluster members and promote a rights-based approach in all programming efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in fields such as Technical/Applied Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or a medical field. Relevant experience in humanitarian work within the WASH sector is essential, with a minimum of two years required. Candidates should have experience in cluster coordination and familiarity with emergency contexts. Strong communication and analytical skills are necessary, along with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Knowledge of UNICEF's core values and competencies is also important for this role.

Educational Background:
A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Technical/Applied Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or a medical field. Other relevant fields include International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, or Community Development. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of WASH programming and the rights of children.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in humanitarian contexts, specifically within the WASH sector. Candidates should have experience in cluster coordination and the ability to chair meetings effectively. Familiarity with emergency situations is necessary, as the role will involve responding to urgent needs in challenging environments. Experience working in developing countries and with local authorities is considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in local dialects or languages may also be beneficial in engaging with communities effectively.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Dnipro, Ukraine, and the incumbent will be expected to work on-site.
