Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Conduct research on existing pedagogical characters and their effectiveness in educational settings.
Collaborate with educational experts to identify key themes and messages that should be conveyed through the characters.
Develop character profiles that include backgrounds, motivations, and educational objectives.
Create engaging narratives and scenarios that incorporate the characters into educational materials.
Test the characters with target audiences to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments.
Work with graphic designers and illustrators to bring the characters to life visually.
Ensure that all characters are culturally relevant and appropriate for the Uruguayan educational context.
Provide training and support to educators on how to effectively use the characters in their teaching.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Experience in creating educational content or materials, preferably involving character development.
Knowledge of pedagogical theories and practices, especially those relevant to the Uruguayan education system.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to conduct research and analyze educational needs and trends.
Creativity and innovation in character design and storytelling.
Educational Background: Candidates should have at least a bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant area would be an advantage. Additional certifications in educational content development or pedagogy would also be beneficial.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in educational consultancy, curriculum development, or instructional design. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs, particularly in the context of education, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as all materials and communications will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in English is also preferred, as it may be necessary for collaboration with international teams and accessing global resources.
