Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Communications & Outreach Unit (COU) of the United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is designed to support the promotion of OICT's work and personnel. The intern will assist in creating engaging multimedia content that highlights OICT projects, initiatives, and teams. This role is pivotal in enhancing the visibility of OICT's contributions to the UN's mission through effective communication strategies. The intern will be involved in various tasks, including video production, graphic design, script writing, and editing, as well as optimizing content for social media and web platforms. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic international organization while contributing to meaningful projects that impact global communication and technology initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the OICT Communications team. These duties include: creating short videos for OICT projects and initiatives for social media coverage; assisting in the production of supporting graphics, including social media assets; providing script writing and editing support; performing post-production tasks on acquired footage; editing videos for publishing on OICT social media platforms; optimizing graphics and video content for web and social media; creating graphics and web banners for ICT stories as needed; and assisting with other ad hoc communications-related activities as instructed. The intern will work closely with team members to ensure that all content aligns with OICT's strategic communication goals and effectively engages the target audience.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, candidates should possess strong visual communication skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written formats, and demonstrate a collaborative spirit by valuing others' ideas and expertise. Technological awareness is also essential, as the intern should keep abreast of available technologies and show a willingness to learn new tools and applications.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program. This educational background ensures that interns have the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the work of the United Nations. The focus on communication, technology, and multimedia content creation aligns with the objectives of the internship, providing a solid foundation for the tasks and responsibilities expected of the intern.

Experience:
No prior working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. However, candidates should demonstrate relevant training, education, advanced coursework, or skills that would benefit the United Nations during their internship. Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is considered an advantage.
