Job Overview:

The intern will work closely with the Communications & Advocacy Officer and will be involved in developing and executing strategic communications initiatives that align with the UN's mandate in Thailand. This role is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in various aspects of strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy project management. Interns will engage in multi-channel visibility planning and outreach activities, which are essential for positioning the UN Country Team effectively within Thailand's development landscape. The internship is unpaid and requires a commitment of at least 35 hours per week for full-time interns, with the possibility of remote work arrangements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic communications initiatives. This includes assisting in stakeholder engagement efforts, managing advocacy projects, and planning multi-channel visibility activities. Interns will also be expected to contribute to outreach activities that promote the UN's work and enhance its visibility in Thailand. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to gain experience in editing, writing, and translating content in both Thai and English, as well as utilizing tools such as Adobe Creative Studio and Canva for communication purposes. The role requires a proactive approach to turning ideas into actionable content and engaging with various stakeholders to further the UN's mission.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). A demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Candidates should possess strong editing, writing, and translation skills in both Thai and English, and should be attentive, organized, flexible, and motivated. Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Studio and Canva is desirable but not mandatory.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program, or have completed such programs. Proof of enrollment or completion must be provided at the time of application, and an official certificate may be required later in the process.

Experience:
No prior working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
