Job Overview:
The Driver position is crucial for supporting the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) project country office team. The primary responsibility of the driver is to operate the project vehicle safely and efficiently, ensuring the timely transportation of clients and project staff to various destinations. This role requires not only driving skills but also a commitment to providing excellent customer service, as the driver will assist clients and staff during their entry and exit from the vehicle. Additionally, the driver is responsible for the care and maintenance of the vehicle, which includes regular cleaning, ensuring that the vehicle is in good working condition, and managing any necessary repairs. The driver must also be familiar with the local area to plan routes effectively based on the schedule or ad-hoc requests from the office, ensuring that all passengers adhere to road safety regulations throughout their journey.

Duties and Responsibilities:

It is also the driver's responsibility to keep all required vehicle documents up to date, including insurance, vehicle logs, and spare parts. The driver must plan routes based on the office schedule and fulfill special requests, such as picking up and delivering items or running errands. In high-risk locations, the driver may also provide protection for clients. The driver will perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team as needed.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Driver position, candidates must possess a valid driving license and a clean driving record. Additionally, candidates must have a trade test certificate and at least five years of related driving experience. Experience in operating large vehicles is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
