Job Overview:
The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator for Emergency Response will work under the supervision of the Emergency Operations and Preparation Referent. The primary role involves leading and coordinating all financial activities necessary to provide a rapid and quality emergency response during deployments. The position also contributes to the development of the finance sector in emergency response and ensures financial oversight of the emergency unit. Responsibilities include defining the emergency response strategy, ensuring accurate accounting of emergency interventions and cash flows, supervising emergency finance teams, and coordinating partnerships both internally and externally. The role requires a proactive approach to prevent and manage fraud and corruption. At the headquarters, the responsibilities extend to finalizing and deploying all preparation and emergency response tools, as well as finance tools for opening country offices. The finance coordinator will manage the finance team during deployments, while at headquarters, there is no team to manage. A key priority will be to contribute to the deployment of the emergency finance system, which is currently being finalized, to regions and country offices. Additionally, the coordinator will handle the financial aspects of project submissions for the emergency unit at the beginning of 2026 and ensure the proper financial closure for the year 202

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to defining the emergency response strategy for the mission.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for emergency interventions and manage cash flows effectively.
  • Supervise emergency finance teams during deployments.
  • Coordinate partnerships internally and externally to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Prevent and manage situations of fraud and corruption.
  • Finalize and deploy all preparation and emergency response tools, including finance tools for opening country offices.
  • Oversee financial management of the emergency unit at headquarters.
  • Contribute to the development of emergency response finance tools and processes for opening country offices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a higher degree in financial management, complemented by experience in humanitarian intervention. Proven experience in finance coordination roles and/or in developing finance strategies is essential. Experience in opening new zones or countries is considered an asset. Strong team management and written and oral communication skills are required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and possess a strong commitment to humanitarian principles and ethics.

Educational Background:
A higher degree in financial management or a related field is required. Additional certifications in finance or humanitarian assistance may be beneficial but are not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in finance coordination, particularly within humanitarian contexts. Experience in developing finance strategies and managing finance teams is crucial. Familiarity with emergency response operations and the challenges associated with them is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages such as Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese is considered a plus, enhancing communication capabilities in diverse operational contexts.

  • The salary ranges from €41,000 to €50,000 gross annually, depending on experience. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave, 21 days of RTT, health coverage with 80% paid by ACF, salary maintenance provisions for illness, maternity, and paternity, transport allowances covering 50% of commuting costs, and meal vouchers with 60% coverage by the organization. Remote work is permitted from metropolitan territory, with no mandatory in-person presence required except for collective meetings and integration days.
