Job Overview:
The contractor will play a pivotal role in supporting Programme Officers with project management and event planning, contributing to the communications and advocacy efforts of the UN Office for Partnerships. This position is integral to the successful execution of initiatives related to the SDG Programmes, particularly focusing on partnerships and the UN Fashion and Lifestyle Network Initiative. The contractor will work closely with the Chief of Operations and other team members to ensure that projects align with the UN's mission and effectively promote sustainable practices in fashion and lifestyle. The role requires a proactive approach to organizing events, conducting research, and developing communication materials that resonate with diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include planning and organizing events, meetings, and special projects convened by the UN Office for Partnerships. This involves identifying relevant speakers, preparing background notes, and producing reports. The contractor will support Programme Officers in the administration of projects aimed at promoting women leadership and sustainable lifestyle practices. Key responsibilities also include conducting research and analysis for presentations, drafting correspondence for senior UN staff, and assisting in the implementation and monitoring of projects. The contractor will prepare project concepts and support the development of relevant documents, reports, and budgets. Additionally, the role involves launching and executing global campaigns, developing communication materials, and monitoring trends related to the Sustainable Development Goals. The contractor will also be tasked with communicating progress on campaigns through various platforms, ensuring that messaging is amplified effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration, environmental studies, or a related field. A minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in programme or project management and partnership support is required. Experience in administering projects that promote sustainable practices in fashion and lifestyle is essential, as is experience in organizing high-level events and special projects in this area. Additionally, candidates should have experience in developing communication materials and reports related to sustainable development goals, which is desired but not mandatory.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration, environmental studies, or a related area. This foundational education is crucial for understanding the complexities of international partnerships and sustainable development initiatives.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of progressively responsible experience in programme or project management, particularly in the context of partnership support. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, especially those focused on sustainable practices in fashion and lifestyle. Experience in organizing high-level events and special projects is also necessary, as well as familiarity with developing communication materials that align with the UN's sustainable development goals.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is required for this position, as English is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another UN official language, such as French, is considered an advantage and may enhance a candidate's application.
