Job Overview: The Climate, Peace and advisor" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Advisor position is embedded within the Political Affairs Section of the UNOAU and reports directly to the Chief of Section. The primary function of this role is to lead the UNOAU's initiatives on the interconnections between climate change, peace, and security. Duties and Responsibilities: The Climate, Peace and Security Advisor will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing strategic analysis and policy advice on the interlinkages between climate change, peace, and security; promoting the integration of climate considerations into UNOAU and African Union operations; supporting the design of policy initiatives for various contexts; monitoring and reporting on policy developments; enhancing coordination between UNOAU and the African Union; serving as the technical focal point on climate, peace, and security; supporting the African Union in engaging member states and regional mechanisms; contributing to knowledge production and dissemination; identifying funding gaps and developing proposals for resource mobilization; collaborating with partners on climate finance; participating in relevant conferences and seminars; drafting various documents; and performing other related duties as required. Experience in political analysis, conflict resolution, and strategy development is essential. Additionally, candidates should have demonstrable experience in political outreach, facilitation, analysis, advice, and reporting, as well as drafting and editing analytical reports.
