Job Overview:
The internship position is within the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Section (GESIS) of the Social Development Division at ESCAP. The primary focus of this internship is to support the organization's efforts in promoting disability inclusion across various sectors. Interns will engage in a range of activities that align with their academic background and professional interests, providing them with valuable experience in the field of social development. The role is designed to enhance the intern's understanding of disability issues, including economic participation, inclusive employment, and accessibility. This position is unpaid and requires a full-time commitment, with interns expected to work five days a week under the supervision of a staff member in the GESIS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that may include conducting research and data analysis on critical areas related to disability inclusion, such as economic participation and digital inclusion. They will assist in organizing meetings, both internal and external, and contribute to the design and implementation of communication materials and social media campaigns. Additionally, interns will help prepare written outputs, including background papers and presentations, and provide support for technical cooperation projects focused on disability-inclusive employment and business. They will also assist in the implementation of the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Section. This role offers a comprehensive experience in the field of social development and disability inclusion.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications at the time of application: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, interns must be computer literate in standard software applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite. A demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Candidates should also exhibit the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs, showing a willingness to understand and tolerate different opinions and views.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in or completion of a graduate program or the final year of an undergraduate program. Candidates with academic backgrounds related to social sciences, disability studies, or similar fields are particularly encouraged to apply. Experience:

Languages:

The internship is unpaid and requires a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week. Interns may work onsite in Bangkok or remotely, depending on the circumstances.
