Job Overview:
As a logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management of logistical resources for the program you oversee. Reporting to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">country director and collaborating with headquarters services, you will serve as the primary contact for the country director, informing them of any issues and proposing solutions within your area of responsibility. You will play a key role in deploying and implementing HI's logistical standards, which involve restructuring the positioning of logistics within HI and affirming the principle of the logistics profession. Your mission will include defining the logistics component of the program strategy and overseeing the corresponding action plan, deploying standards, contributing to HI's expertise and accountability, and operationally implementing logistics. You will also animate the logistics profession within your program and contribute to the evolution of the logistics profession within the organization. Additionally, you will prepare for and respond to emergencies, ensuring that logistical operations are effective and efficient.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Management of logistics staff and resources, ensuring effective training and skill transfer.
  • Define the logistics strategy for the program and oversee the action plan related to it.
  • Deploy logistical standards and contribute to HI's expertise and accountability.
  • Implement operational logistics effectively, ensuring that all logistical processes are streamlined and efficient.
  • Facilitate the logistics profession within your program and contribute to the overall development of the logistics profession within HI.
  • Prepare for and respond to emergencies, ensuring that logistical support is available when needed.
  • Maintain communication with the country director regarding any logistical issues and propose solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with HI's policies and procedures in all logistical operations.
  • Manage relationships with local partners and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration in logistical matters. 1
  • Monitor and evaluate logistical operations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have proven experience in training and skill transfer, as well as in writing logistical procedures. Management experience is essential, with the ability to foster autonomy and development among team members. Candidates should possess essential professional skills in maintenance, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, planning, purchasing, supply chain management, stock management, and transportation. Comfort in monitoring, responding to, and preparing for emergencies is crucial. The ability to work under pressure with multiple demands and manage stress effectively is also required.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required. Candidates should have formal training or certifications that demonstrate their expertise in logistics and management.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in logistics management, ideally in an international or humanitarian context. Experience in emergency response logistics is particularly valuable, as is experience working in challenging environments. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of Haitian Creole is a plus, as it will facilitate communication with local partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is an international contract for 12 months, starting in early June 2026, based in Port-au-Prince. The international contract provides social coverage tailored to individual needs, including unemployment insurance for EU nationals, retirement insurance, health coverage, repatriation, and other benefits covered by HI and the employee. The salary starts at 2869 € gross per month, with a per diem of 1060 € net per month paid in local currency on the ground, and a hardship allowance of 500 € net per month. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and rest and recuperation (R&R) days according to the mission level, with 5 days every 8 weeks. The position is non-accompanied, and after 12 months of service, a child allowance of 100 € is provided for employees with two or more dependent children, paid in local currency on the ground. Accommodation is collective and provided by HI.
