Job Overview:
The position oversees the CDCS/AFD funded project, ensuring global coordination between SI, associated partners, and key stakeholders. The role involves providing a vision and developing an implementation strategy for the project, ensuring timely delivery of project targets, budget adherence, and quality compliance with donor regulations. The position also requires external representation of the organization. The main challenges include ensuring coherence across project components to maximize relevance and impact, managing internal coordination among multi-base projects, and adhering to specific AFD procedures. In the initial months, the focus will be on monitoring preliminary studies prior to construction and launching complementary activities based on results and activity schedules, while facilitating information flow among all stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the implementation of the CDCS/AFD funded project, ensuring alignment with SI's strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with associated partners and key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive project strategy that meets donor requirements and organizational goals.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all donor rules and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Represent SI externally in meetings and discussions with stakeholders, ensuring the organization's interests are well-represented.
  • Address challenges related to project coherence and internal coordination, particularly in a multi-base context.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between all stakeholders to ensure transparency and effective decision-making.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of project activities to inform ongoing improvements and adjustments. 1
  • Prepare and submit reports to donors and SI management, detailing project progress and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating the ability to manage complex projects effectively.
  • Strong technical skills in project management and experience working with local actors.
  • Familiarity with WASH technical skills is a strong asset, though not mandatory.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, which provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective project management and implementation in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar role. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of project management cycles and the ability to work effectively in challenging environments.

Languages:
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory for effective communication and reporting.
  • French is also required for communication with French donors.
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
The position is a salaried role with a starting gross monthly salary of EUR 2860, which includes a base salary of EUR 2600 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of EUR 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The contract is for a short-term duration of 6 months, with a desired start date of 01/05/202
  • During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented, allowing for 7 working days every three months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. SI also grants one additional rest day per month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs, as well as essential vaccinations and antimalarial treatments. Living conditions in Dnipro are favorable, with access to parks, restaurants, and various amenities, and the office is conveniently located within walking distance of guesthouses.
