Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the field base in Dnipro, Ukraine. This role involves working under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and closely coordinating with various support coordinators. The Field Coordinator is tasked with implementing the global strategy for the area of intervention, ensuring high-quality financial, HR, and logistical management. Additionally, the Field Coordinator represents SI in local forums and coordination groups, manages a team that includes logistics and administration managers, and oversees security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security management and context analysis for the operational area. The position is critical in navigating the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict and ensuring the well-being of the team while maintaining operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall operations of the field base, ensuring alignment with SI's strategic objectives.
  • Supervise and support the logistics and administration teams, ensuring adherence to SI's core policies.
  • Represent SI in local coordination meetings and forums, fostering partnerships and collaboration.
  • Oversee security management, conducting regular context analyses to adapt to the evolving security landscape.
  • Address HR challenges, including the impact of conscription and mental health issues among staff.
  • Collaborate with other field coordinators and coordination teams for fundraising and resource mobilization.
  • Ensure effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of well-being and support for staff in a high-stress environment.
  • Implement strategies for both emergency response and early recovery interventions in the region.

Required Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in a humanitarian field or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar position.
  • Proven experience in field coordination and HR management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage security in volatile environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a master's degree in a relevant humanitarian field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and effectively managing field operations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with specific experience in a field coordinator role being advantageous. Candidates should have a track record of managing teams and navigating the challenges of humanitarian operations in conflict-affected areas.

Languages:
Fluency in English at a C1 level is mandatory. Proficiency in Ukrainian and/or Russian is considered a plus, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and team members.

  • The role is based in Dnipro, Ukraine, and involves a salary starting from EUR 3,080 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a monthly per diem. SI provides accommodation, travel expenses, and a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare and repatriation. The organization also implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with additional rest days for each month worked. Living conditions include fully equipped accommodations in Dnipro city center, with access to various amenities despite the ongoing security risks.
