Job Overview:
In the role of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Officer CST II, you will be instrumental in supporting the WFP Dnipro Field Office in Ukraine. Your primary responsibilities will include providing technical advice, guidance, and management of WFP’s security operations. This is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of food assistance programs while maintaining the safety and security of WFP personnel, activities, and facilities. You will lead a small team of security professionals, ensuring that security measures are in place to protect staff and operations. The position requires a proactive approach to security management, with a focus on adapting to the evolving security landscape in Ukraine, particularly in areas affected by conflict. You will also be expected to engage with local and national partners to enhance security protocols and represent WFP in inter-agency meetings, contributing to broader discussions on security and operational strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Security Officer CST II, your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Monitoring and advising on security developments in Ukraine, particularly in conflict-affected areas, to inform WFP's operational activities.
• Providing technical advice and support on operational security requirements, conducting security assessments, and developing security plans for country offices.
• Leading the security team, ensuring effective management of security resources and activities to support WFP programs.
• Establishing and maintaining a robust security management communications system for coordinated security operations.
• Building relationships with government agencies and national partners to optimize protection for staff and facilities.
• Representing WFP at inter-agency security meetings to advocate for WFP's interests and share knowledge.
• Collaborating with internal and external partners to align security activities with broader program objectives.
• Facilitating security training and development opportunities for WFP staff and partners.
• Preparing accurate reports on security activities and incidents to support informed decision-making. 1

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the position, candidates must possess a combination of education and experience. A minimum of seven years of relevant postgraduate professional experience in security, military, police, law enforcement, crisis management, or risk management is required. Candidates should have experience managing teams and advising on security developments that impact WFP operations. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to provide technical security operations advice and contribute to the development of security strategies and policies.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold an advanced university degree in Security Management, International Relations, Law Enforcement, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be accepted. A diploma from a Military or Police Academy with qualifying experience may also be considered in lieu of the first university degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant postgraduate professional experience in security-related fields. Candidates should have experience in post-soviet states or cold climate operations, and a proven track record of managing teams with diverse expertise. Experience in advising on regional and local security developments that affect WFP's operations is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English (level C) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

The position is offered under an International Consultancy Contract for a duration of 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs.
