Job Overview:
In the role of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Operations Support Officer, you will be integral to the Dnipro Field Office's security operations, ensuring the safety and security of WFP personnel, activities, and facilities. Your responsibilities will include supporting the effective delivery of food assistance programs while maintaining a secure environment for staff and operations. You will engage in various security-related tasks, including planning and executing field missions, liaising with security management entities, and contributing to the development of security protocols. This position is crucial in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where WFP is actively involved in providing humanitarian assistance to affected communities. Your work will directly impact the organization's ability to respond to the needs of those displaced and affected by the war, making it a vital role within the humanitarian response framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Security Operations Support Officer, your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety and security of WFP operations in Dnipro. You will contribute to the planning and execution of field missions and convoys, monitor security conditions, and assist in the development of contingency plans. Your role will involve liaising with the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) and participating in security management meetings to keep WFP staff informed about security matters. You will also provide operational support for Security Risk Management (SRM) compliance, manage facility access control measures, and oversee security equipment management. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing local security information, preparing reports for senior management, and conducting security orientation briefings for new staff. Training activities to enhance security capabilities for WFP and external partners will also be part of your responsibilities, along with supporting the supervisor during emergencies and performing other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a good theoretical understanding of security management concepts and principles, along with knowledge of best practices and techniques in the field. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to adapt your communication style to various situations and individuals. The ability to analyze information and develop efficient solutions is crucial, as is the capacity to deliver effective training and briefings. Familiarity with common business principles and processes, as well as the ability to quickly learn UN/WFP-specific systems, will be beneficial in this role.

Educational Background:
Candidates should hold an advanced university degree in Security Management, International Relations, Law Enforcement, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree combined with relevant work experience and/or training may be acceptable. A diploma from a Military or Police Academy, along with qualifying experience, may also be considered in lieu of the first university degree.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of progressively responsible professional experience in security management, which may include relevant military, police, or corporate security experience. A background in security risk management and an interest in international humanitarian development are also important. Experience in managing support staff is advantageous, as it demonstrates the ability to lead and coordinate security operations effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position, with a proficiency level of C. This ensures effective communication within the organization and with local partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a Service Contract for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal. It is specifically open to Ukrainian nationals or residents of Ukraine who possess a legal work permit. The role is based in Dnipro, and WFP offers a competitive salary starting at USD 3030 per month, along with additional allowances due to the ongoing conflict.
