Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for Sudan and Chad will be responsible for providing overall leadership for Relief International’s programs across both country missions. This office-based role in Port Sudan involves significant travel to Kenya and Chad, with approximately 25% of the time spent traveling to field locations. The Country Director will set and deliver the strategic vision for the missions, ensuring program quality, operational delivery, financial management, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and risk management, and leadership of senior country teams. The role requires adapting country programs to the evolving donor landscape and operational environment, while ensuring effective implementation of existing programs in Health, Protection, WASH, Nutrition, and Livelihoods. The Country Director will also engage with donors, government authorities, UN agencies, and partners, leading high-level representation, fundraising, and program development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Country Director will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading the strategic vision and direction for the Sudan and Chad missions; ensuring the quality and effectiveness of program delivery; managing financial resources and operational risks; overseeing security protocols and risk management strategies; leading and mentoring senior country teams; engaging in high-level representation with stakeholders; developing and maintaining partnerships with donors and government authorities; overseeing fundraising efforts and program development initiatives; adapting programs in response to changing contexts; and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including safeguarding and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong track record of leadership in complex or fragile humanitarian settings. They should be comfortable leading large, multi-sector programs with accountability for quality, operations, finance, security, and risk. A strategic mindset is essential, with the ability to adapt programs and structures in response to changing contexts. Experience in donor engagement, fundraising, and partnership development is crucial. Candidates should also demonstrate effective people leadership skills, with experience in building inclusive and high-performing teams. Strong communication skills are necessary for engaging with various stakeholders, including donors and government authorities.

Educational Background:
