Job Overview: The Country Office security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Associate (COSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of UNDP personnel, property, and operations across Indonesia. Under the guidance of the Resident Representative and in coordination with the Operations Manager, the COSA is responsible for providing security management support that minimizes risks while enabling the effective delivery of UNDP programs. This position requires interaction with various security partners, including the UN Department of Security and Safety (UNDSS), national and local security agencies, and other stakeholders to exchange information and implement security measures. The COSA will assist in integrating security risk management into all aspects of UNDP operations, ensuring that security considerations are embedded in project design, implementation, and evaluation. The role also involves conducting security assessments, advising on security measures, and supporting emergency preparedness and response initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The COSA's duties include providing security management support, guiding on security policies, and contributing to security risk management for UNDP programs. The COSA will assist in mainstreaming security into program design and delivery, review security factors impacting UNDP operations, and make recommendations for improvements. Responsibilities also include conducting security risk assessments, advising management on security measures, and supporting the implementation of the Country Security Plan and Business Continuity Management. The COSA will coordinate with UNDSS to ensure emergency procedures are in place, monitor security compliance of UNDP premises, and provide training and orientation on security issues to staff. Additionally, the COSA will represent UNDP's security interests in various forums and maintain communication with security counterparts to facilitate information flow on security matters affecting UNDP programs.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary education as a minimum requirement, with a university degree in Political Science, Military Studies, Security Management, or a related field being advantageous. Relevant security, police, or military training is desirable. The position requires a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in security, preferably in military or police contexts, or 3 years with a bachelor's degree. Familiarity with the UN system or international NGOs is preferred. Proficiency in using office software, database packages, and web-based management systems is essential, along with strong analytical and communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Experience with advanced communication systems and emergency protocols is highly desirable, as is security-related training experience.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes at least a secondary education. A university degree, either a bachelor's or master's equivalent, in fields such as Political Science, Military Studies, Security Management, or Management is preferred but not mandatory.
