Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator is responsible for providing methodological support to all program teams within the mission. This role ensures the quality and relevance of monitoring activities and internal evaluations, along with the recommendations and analyses that stem from these evaluations. The MEAL Coordinator will also engage in experience capitalization and contribute to the development of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL's strategy by supporting programs in monitoring, evaluation, and the integration of cross-functional issues such as protection, accountability, community participation, and disability inclusion. This position is particularly challenging as it is the first MEAL Coordinator role based in Yangon, dealing with a significant volume of complex and diverse consortia, and strong commitments to monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) and information management (IM). The position is set to transition from Bangkok to Yangon in early 2026, amidst ongoing access constraints and a restructuring of the mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Coordinator will have several key responsibilities, including:
Providing methodological support to program teams to enhance the quality of monitoring and evaluation activities.
Ensuring that all monitoring activities are relevant and aligned with the mission's objectives.
Conducting internal evaluations and providing actionable recommendations based on findings.
Supporting the development and implementation of MEAL systems across various bases.
Collaborating with other NGOs and stakeholders to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation practices.
Managing and developing information management protocols, particularly in complex consortia settings.
Engaging in proposal and strategy development to enhance program effectiveness.
Maintaining strong external relations and communication with partners and stakeholders.
Adapting to remote management and ensuring the application of digital security frameworks. 1
Traveling to operational bases as needed, while navigating access constraints and security considerations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of all components of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), ideally with experience in at least one SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL mission. They should have a proven track record in setting up and developing MEAL systems, as well as managing information management protocols in complex consortia settings. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate skills in proposal and strategy development, along with strong external relations and communication capabilities.
Educational Background: A Master's degree or equivalent in international development, humanitarian assistance, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to succeed in a complex humanitarian environment.
Experience: Candidates should have 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0 to 2 years in a similar position. This experience is crucial for understanding the dynamics of humanitarian work and the specific challenges faced in the field, particularly in relation to monitoring and evaluation.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and communities.

The role is based in Yangon, Myanmar, with occasional travel to operational bases. The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 600 is provided, along with accommodation costs covered by SI. Expatriates will also receive a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. The living conditions in Yangon are reported to be good, with accommodation provided in guesthouses. The position does not offer a family package due to visa restrictions in Myanmar.
