Job Overview:
The Information Systems Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the ASYCUDA Programme by ensuring the effective operation of information systems related to customs data. The incumbent will be responsible for desktop administration, server operations, service installation, and support, as well as procurement and logistics. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally to support customs operations. The assistant will work closely with the ASYCUDA Regional Coordinator and other technical teams to maintain high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction. The role also involves keeping abreast of technological advancements and implementing best practices in information technology to enhance the efficiency of customs procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Information Systems Assistant include monitoring personal computers running the ASYCUDA software, performing software updates and testing, providing technical support, and troubleshooting desktop issues. The assistant will also be responsible for server operations, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software. This includes managing Local Area Networks, operating systems, and various security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security software. The role requires logging service requests, diagnosing hardware and software issues, and providing training to end-users. Additionally, the assistant will manage asset inventory, enforce security procedures, and prepare documentation and reports. The position demands effective communication with clients and collaboration with technical teams to ensure the successful completion of service requests and the implementation of quality assurance procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 7 years of experience in information technology or a related area is required, with a focus on the digitalization of customs procedures. For candidates with a first-level university degree or higher, the minimum experience requirement is reduced to 5 years. Experience in data analytics and working in an automated customs environment is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have experience supporting technical cooperation programs related to customs and international trade digitization, particularly within the context of the United Nations or similar organizations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent. While specific job-related qualifications are not detailed, candidates with higher education degrees may have a competitive advantage, particularly in fields related to information technology, computer science, or international trade.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology or a related area. This position is a project-funded temporary role, initially available for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project continuation, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
