Job Overview: The Programme Analyst position at UN Women involves supporting the implementation of activities under the Training Team, focusing on women's economic empowerment and transforming care systems. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including UN Women Country Offices and the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, to ensure effective delivery of programs. The Programme Analyst will contribute to the development of program strategies, provide technical support for program management, and assist in monitoring and reporting on program activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of program strategies in priority thematic areas, providing technical inputs for program/project proposals related to women's economic empowerment and care systems.
Support the implementation and management of thematic area programs, including coordinating annual workplans, monitoring program activities, and training partners on Results Based Management.
Provide technical assistance and capacity development support to project/program partners, overseeing the implementation of program activities and identifying capacity-building opportunities.
Monitor progress on program activities, results, and indicators, providing inputs for quarterly and donor reports.
Manage financial aspects of the thematic area program, including budget monitoring and revisions, and overseeing the work of the Programme Assistant.
Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, maintaining databases and providing inputs for project documentation.
Support advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts by coordinating events, developing knowledge management products, and providing technical inputs for background documents and presentations.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) is an added advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, knowledge of women's economic empowerment, and the ability to gather and interpret data effectively.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is desirable.
Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience in women's economic empowerment and coordination with government agencies or donors is desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English and Korean is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Seoul, South Korea, and requires proficiency in Korean due to the nature of the work.
