Job Overview: The position of Information Management and Data System Support is located in the FAO Country Office in Islamabad. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the FAO Representative and the Assistant FAOR (Programme), collaborating closely with project managers and technical teams across all FAO projects. The primary focus of this role is to provide information management and data system support, ensuring high-quality reporting, data visualization, and digital transformation across various programs. The incumbent will lead initiatives aimed at automating processes and enhancing efficiency through digital solutions, manage data collection tools, and support teams in data management, ensuring compliance with FAO's data protection policies. This role is critical in supporting the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) and program teams with timely data visualization and decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the position include establishing and maintaining a centralized knowledge management and reporting system to consolidate project reports and best practices, managing the FAO KOBO Application on cloud-based servers, and ensuring data quality and compliance with FAO's data protection policies. The incumbent will collect, compile, and analyze data from various sources, prepare visualization products using advanced tools, assess database infrastructure needs, and provide ongoing support for database performance. Additionally, the role involves supporting the setup and maintenance of information management systems, updating web-based humanitarian platforms, and collecting data for various reporting and analysis purposes. The incumbent will also perform any other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Information Management. They should have advanced expertise in data management, analysis, and visualization, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and KoBo. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in information management, data systems, and analytics is required. Candidates must be Pakistani nationals and demonstrate FAO core competencies, including results focus, teamwork, communication, and knowledge sharing.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Information Management. This advanced degree is essential for understanding the complexities of data management and analysis in the context of FAO's work.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in information management, data systems, and analytics. This experience should include a strong background in data management and visualization, as well as familiarity with various data collection tools and IT systems.
Languages: A strong command of spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English is the primary language of communication within FAO.
