Job Overview:
The Registration Assistant plays a crucial role within the registration team, primarily responsible for supporting all activities related to the registration of asylum seekers and refugees. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Registration Assistant include conducting registration interviews in accordance with local standard operating procedures (SOPs) and registration standards. The incumbent will respond to queries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR's registration procedures and their rights and entitlements. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and data related to all individual registration cases is a critical responsibility. The Registration Assistant will identify persons with specific needs and ensure timely referral to protection follow-up as required. Collaboration with protection staff and/or partners in delivering assistance and programming, including the provision of identity and entitlement documentation, is essential. The role may also involve acting as an interpreter and translator when needed, referring cases to other units within the office and to implementing partners as necessary. Additionally, the Registration Assistant will support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in their area of responsibility, ensuring decision-making is risk-based. Performing other related duties as required is also part of the role.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Registration Assistant position include a minimum of one year of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education. Candidates should possess strong computer skills, particularly in data management, and familiarity with UNHCR's proGres database is considered an asset. Fluency in English is mandatory, and working-level proficiency in Dari, Farsi, or Pashto is essential.
