Job Overview: The District Coordinator will provide comprehensive support to the EpiC Bangladesh project, which is a global initiative funded by the US Government and the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). This role involves working across technical, administrative, and operational components at the district level. The District Coordinator will report to the Regional Coordinator and will assist in the coordination and field implementation of program activities, partner management, reporting, and project documentation. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of activities, financial accountability, and effective collaboration with stakeholders. The District Coordinator will play a central role in supporting both technical and operational needs of the project, ensuring that all activities align with the project’s objectives and deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities: The District Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: assisting in the planning, organizing, and implementing of program activities across all technical areas such as Global Health Security, Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Risk Communication and Community Engagement, and Health Systems Strengthening at the district level. They will provide technical assistance to implementing partners for program implementation and stakeholder coordination, support the development of district and Upazila outbreak response plans, and coordinate with partners and stakeholders to monitor progress and support timely implementation of project deliverables. The role also involves maintaining organized records of program activities, preparing regular program reports, briefs, and success stories, and ensuring accurate documentation of key decisions and outputs. Additionally, the District Coordinator will engage with district health authorities, strengthen coordination with various committees, assist in organizing participatory events, and collaborate with the Strategic Information team to ensure quality data collection and reporting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant work experience in project management, finance, or administrative support in donor-funded development programs is required. Familiarity with health systems in Bangladesh and knowledge of disease outbreak response activities at the district level is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate experience in event coordination and partner liaison, possess strong documentation and communication skills, and have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting tools or ERP systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English are essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Public Health, Development Studies, or similar disciplines. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in public health and development work.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant work experience. This experience should be in project management, finance, or administrative support specifically within donor-funded development programs. Familiarity with health systems in Bangladesh and knowledge of disease outbreak response activities at the district level are crucial for success in this role. Candidates should also have demonstrated experience in event coordination and liaising with partners, showcasing their ability to manage relationships and facilitate collaboration effectively.
Languages: Proficiency in Bangla and English is mandatory for this position. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages are essential for effective stakeholder engagement and reporting. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
