Job Overview: The Supply Chain Officer (SCO) position at IOM in Amman, Jordan, is a critical role that involves managing procurement and logistics functions within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Supply Chain Officer include but are not limited to: receiving and consolidating procurement requisition forms, verifying compliance with the Purchase Authorization Matrix, assisting in complex purchases, preparing tender documents, soliciting bids, and participating in the evaluation process. The SCO will confirm terms of agreement with suppliers, prepare necessary documentation, monitor the status of requisitions, and ensure timely delivery of goods. Additionally, the officer will review vendor invoices, prepare payment requests, and maintain both physical and electronic records of procurement activities. Conducting market surveys to identify potential suppliers, monitoring contractual agreements, and providing training and guidance to junior staff are also key responsibilities. The SCO will coordinate fleet operations and perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that all procurement and logistics functions align with IOM's standards and objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a high school diploma with five years of relevant experience is acceptable. Certification in Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of procurement processes and logistics management, as well as the ability to work effectively with vendors and service providers.
