Job Overview:
The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager will report directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and is responsible for the efficient management of logistics resources within the designated area of intervention. This role serves as the primary liaison for the regional logistics manager, addressing any logistical issues that arise and proposing effective solutions. The Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in implementing HI's logistics standards, which aim to enhance the positioning of logistics within the organization and promote professional development. The position requires a proactive approach to managing logistics operations, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively to meet the needs of the organization and the communities it serves. The Logistics Manager will also be involved in strategic planning and operational management, ensuring that the logistics team is aligned with HI's overall mission and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Manager will have several key responsibilities, including:
  • Management: Acting as a role model for HI's values, the manager will coach team members, translating strategic objectives into operational goals. They will organize the team's work, steer performance, and facilitate problem resolution.
  • Logistics Strategy: The manager will drive the logistics strategy, contributing to the drafting and implementation of the Operational Strategy (StratOp) and managing risks and incidents within their area of responsibility.
  • Standards and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to HI's logistics standards, the manager will adapt these standards to local conditions and supervise internal controls.
  • Operational Implementation: The manager will conduct contextual analyses, design logistics chains, and plan procurement strategies to ensure effective logistics operations.
  • Professional Development: The manager will facilitate the development of the logistics profession within their geographical area and contribute to the organization's global logistics community.
  • Emergency Preparedness: The manager will lead emergency preparedness actions and reorganize team priorities in response to humanitarian needs during crises.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 3 years of experience in managing humanitarian logistics, with a minimum of 2 years in emergency response within conflict-affected countries. Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills are essential, along with excellent communication and negotiation abilities in English. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex supply chains and logistics operations in high-risk environments. Experience in remote team management and navigating access constraints is highly desirable, as is a thorough understanding of donor procurement rules and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.

Educational Background:

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a 6-month international contract, starting from early April 2026, based in Amman. The contract includes social coverage tailored to the individual's situation, such as unemployment insurance for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2750€ gross per month, depending on experience, with a per diem of 642€ per month while in the field. Employees are entitled to 25 paid leave days per year, with additional rest and recuperation days based on the mission level. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be provided collectively by HI. For residents of the country, a local compensation package will be offered.
