Job Overview: The consultant for digital communications will play a crucial role in enhancing UNRWA's online presence and engagement through the creation and dissemination of multimedia content. The consultant will work closely with the Digital Communications and Social Media Officer to ensure that all content aligns with UNRWA's mission and communication strategies. The role involves maintaining a social media calendar, conducting assessments of digital communication efforts, and producing original multimedia materials that effectively convey UNRWA's messages and initiatives. The consultant will also be responsible for monitoring social media analytics and making recommendations for improvements to enhance engagement and reach.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: creating editorial content such as stories, photos, and videos; maintaining a social media calendar and content plans; assisting in the production of multimedia materials for UNRWA's website and social media; conducting assessments of media and social media impact; drafting engaging posts for various accounts; coordinating the development of audio-visual content with graphic designers and multimedia specialists; developing communication materials targeted at donors; coordinating social media messages with partner organizations; monitoring and analyzing social media user data; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The consultant must ensure that all content is engaging, innovative, and aligned with UNRWA's objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution, preferably in communications, marketing, graphic design, videography, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least four years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of two continuous years of international experience outside of UNRWA and the candidate's country of citizenship. Experience in video editing and content creation for social media is essential, as is a strong understanding of digital communication strategies and tools.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as communications, marketing, graphic design, or videography. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the principles of effective communication and content creation, which are vital for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant work experience, with at least two years of continuous international experience outside of UNRWA and the candidate's country of citizenship.
