Job Overview:
The Director, Global Health Management will play a pivotal role in the EpiC Mozambique Global Health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security project, which is funded by the United States Government. This position is focused on enhancing Mozambique's capacity for outbreak preparedness and response, improving laboratory and detection capabilities, and developing surveillance systems to manage emerging and re-emerging diseases. The Director will work closely with the EpiC Mozambique Project Director to ensure effective program implementation in collaboration with government counterparts, the US Department of State, and other stakeholders. The role requires a strong emphasis on achieving project objectives related to infectious disease threats, overseeing cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with financial and administrative regulations. The Director will also be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to support the project's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director, GHS Management will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: serving as the lead for the EpiC GHS project at the country level, developing work plans, preparing and reviewing periodic reports for funders, and ensuring project implementation is efficient and compliant. The Director will contribute to strategic planning processes, develop relationships with government agencies and donors, oversee project budgets, and ensure timely reporting to management and donors. Additionally, the Director will lead the technical and operational activities of the project, coordinate multiple technical workstreams, and manage partnerships with implementing partners. The role also involves recruiting and supervising project staff, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring accountability to beneficiaries and funding agencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in public health, health management, social science, or a related field. A Master's Degree or its equivalent is preferred, along with Project Management (PM) Certification. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of global health security strategies, management experience with USG cooperative agreements, and familiarity with Foreign Assistance Office regulations. Effective strategic planning, project evaluation, and management skills are essential, as well as strong business acumen and consultative skills. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with government personnel, stakeholders, and international donor agencies is crucial.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree in public health, health management, social science, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's Degree in public health, development studies, social work, or a related field. Project Management Certification is also preferred, indicating a formal understanding of project management principles and practices.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in project management, particularly in public health projects that are strategic and complex in nature. Experience in designing and leading effective public health initiatives is essential, along with proficiency in applicable rules and regulations associated with international development and NGOs. The role is open to Mozambican nationals or those residing in Mozambique, with expatriate allowances not being provided.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with strong oral and written communication skills required. Proficiency in Portuguese is highly desired, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance project implementation.
