Job Overview: The National Consultant for the National Inventory of Banks Project will play a crucial role in the preparation of the ODS banks inventory and the development of a national plan for Grenada. This position is home-based and is expected to last for a duration of 9 months. The consultant will be responsible for providing administrative support to UNEP’s Independent National Consultant for data collection, leading stakeholder consultations, and supporting the National Ozone Unit (NOU) in establishing and coordinating a national expert team. The consultant will work closely with UNEP’s International Consultant and the NOU to ensure that the project objectives are met, and that comprehensive data is collected to inform the development of the inventory and national plan. The role requires a strong understanding of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, as well as experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including: (i) Providing administrative support to UNEP’s Independent National Consultant for data collection under the National Inventory of Banks; (ii) Leading stakeholder consultations to obtain input, support, and validation for the project’s deliverables, including the Inventory and National Plan; (iii) Collaborating closely with UNEP’s International Consultant and the Independent National Consultant to ensure effective data collection and project implementation; (iv) Supporting the NOU in establishing and coordinating a national expert team in accordance with the project’s requirements; (v) Organizing and facilitating stakeholder consultations, meetings, and other events to gain stakeholder approval and disseminate results and technical information regarding the project; (vi) Preparing project reports that take into account the Multilateral Fund’s gender mainstreaming policy and are endorsed by the Government and UNEP; (vii) Working under the guidance and supervision of the OzonAction Montreal Protocol Regional Coordinator and in close collaboration with the NOU of Grenada.
Required Qualifications: The position requires the following qualifications: (i) Completion of a recognized high school diploma; (ii) A minimum of three years’ experience working with the NOU at the national level, demonstrating an understanding of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector; (iii) Experience in project management or a related field, showcasing expertise in relevant areas; (iv) A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in project implementation and reporting, including preparing progress reports and organizing stakeholder consultations and workshops.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a recognized high school diploma. Additional qualifications or certifications related to project management or environmental studies may be beneficial but are not explicitly required.
Experience: The consultant should have a minimum of three years of experience working with the National Ozone Unit at the national level, with a strong understanding of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. Additionally, at least two years of experience in project implementation and reporting is required, which should include preparing progress reports and organizing stakeholder consultations and workshops.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered desirable, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the effectiveness of the project.
