Job Overview: The Operations Associate plays a crucial role in providing a broad range of procedural, administrative, and specialized operational support across various functions including administration, finance and budget, people and culture, supply and procurement, and information and communications technology (ICT). Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration: Provide administrative, logistical, and coordination support to ensure efficient operations. Maintain filing systems, coordinate office communications, organize logistics for events, and manage staff travel arrangements. Assist in budget preparation and monitor project implementation against milestones.
Finance & Budget: Provide financial management support, prepare financial reports, maintain financial records, and assist in budget planning and revisions. Process grant and budget transactions and ensure compliance with UNICEF policies.
People and Culture: Support HR processes by coordinating project timelines, assisting in recruitment, monitoring performance appraisals, and maintaining staff records. Analyze HR data for reports and support staff engagement initiatives.
Impact of Results: Maintain contacts with counterparts in international organizations and facilitate effective communications within UNICEF, contributing to the smooth delivery of HR processes and ensuring compliance with policies.
Required Qualifications: Minimum requirements include completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work. At least six years of relevant work experience in administrative support, financial management, and human resources operations is required. Practical experience in Human Resources and application of HR policies is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
