Job Overview: The Communication and Documentation Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and disseminating information across various technical portfolios, including HIV, maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and global health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. This position is designed to ensure that all project activities are well-organized, documented, and effectively communicated to both internal and external stakeholders. The Specialist will oversee the project’s branding and marking, develop visual media and written materials, and coordinate project reporting efforts. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and collaborating with various partners to ensure compliance with branding and marking requirements. The Specialist will also be responsible for promoting communication outreach events and ensuring that project documents are accessible and well-organized.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Communication and Documentation Specialist include: ensuring project products align with EpiC and FHI 360’s branding and marking requirements; liaising with government stakeholders and local implementing partners; researching, writing, and editing a variety of communications such as project reports and blogs; supporting communication outreach events; overseeing the preparation and execution of events for high-level stakeholders; coordinating conferences and workshops; ensuring project documents are organized on SharePoint; documenting project events through various media; identifying and sourcing vendors for communication activities; providing support to implementing partners in completing reports; contributing to program reports and documentation of successes; analyzing program data for quality improvement; and performing other relevant duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in communications, public health, medicine, social science, or behavioral science with three to five years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience in a related field. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to initiate and implement activities with minimal supervision, manage high-volume workflows, and work effectively across multiple programmatic areas. Experience in public health communications, particularly in HIV, MNCH, nutrition, and global health security, is essential. Familiarity with USG branding and marking requirements is advantageous. Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for document creation and knowledge management.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in communications, public health, medicine, social science, or behavioral science. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields is acceptable if accompanied by sufficient relevant experience. The educational qualifications should reflect a strong foundation in communication strategies and public health principles, enabling the candidate to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and manage project documentation.
Experience: The position requires three to five years of experience in communications, particularly within public health programming. Candidates should have a proven track record of supporting communications in areas such as HIV, maternal and child health, nutrition, and global health security. Experience in managing relationships with consortium partners and stakeholders is essential, as is the ability to handle multiple tasks in a virtual work environment. Experience in organizing events for high-level stakeholders and large-scale workshops is also necessary.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Nepali is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages. The ability to document and communicate effectively in these languages is crucial for the role. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
