The assistant will work under the supervision of the Nutrition Officer, focusing on the provision of hot meals and ensuring that the nutritional needs of beneficiaries are met effectively. The assistant will be involved in various activities, including menu planning, food safety monitoring, and community training, contributing to the overall success of the nutrition programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Asistente de Programas Nutrición will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Defining menu cycles and food exchange lists to ensure compliance with nutritional standards at hot meal points.
Assisting in the implementation and operational monitoring of hot meal services.
Verifying the nutritional quality and safety of food from receipt to service.
Documenting incidents, menu adjustments, and proposing operational improvements.
Conducting nutritional education activities for participants to promote healthy eating habits.
Training staff on portion standardization, safe food handling, and healthy practices.
Monitoring the proper use of food resources and contributing to waste reduction efforts.
Leading and supporting organizational and community strengthening processes at prioritized hot meal points.
Collaborating with central teams, area offices, and field teams to ensure effective program delivery. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a completed secondary education cycle. A professional degree in Nutrition and Dietetics is desirable, along with a valid professional license. Familiarity with food safety regulations and administrative procedures of the United Nations is also valued.
