The WHO Country Office in Jordan is currently transitioning from GPW 13 to the Fourteenth General Programme of Work (GPW 14) for 2025-2028, which emphasizes strengthening country offices to deliver impactful results and align with national priorities, including Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision and the Ministry of Health Strategic Plan 2023-2025.

Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the WHO Jordan Country Office. The primary role involves contributing to the implementation of the Resource Mobilization Strategic Action Plan and producing high-quality reports that demonstrate impact, accountability, and transparency to donors, partners, and stakeholders. The position focuses on monitoring and reporting for regional flagship initiatives and progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG-3) using a multisectoral approach. The volunteer will coordinate with staff to collect data, conduct stakeholder mapping, maintain a donor database, and track funding commitments. Additionally, the role includes preparing donor reports and supporting the organization of donor meetings and events, thereby enhancing WHO's visibility and advocacy efforts in Jordan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Resource Mobilization: Coordinate with staff and perform preliminary data collection using AI-enhanced resource mobilization and donor coordination mapping tools. Conduct stakeholder mapping and produce periodic analytical reports for decision-making. Maintain a donor database and track funding commitments. Conduct periodic donor intelligence to identify funding opportunities and donor priorities relevant to WHO Jordan, aligning with national priorities and CCS strategic objectives. Manage the resource mobilization agenda at the WHO Jordan Country Office, ensuring systematic follow-up with donors and development partners, and providing timely updates to the team.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the WHO Jordan Country Office reporting mechanism, particularly in producing periodic analytical reports on regional flagship initiatives at the country level, while collecting and consolidating inputs from technical teams. Coordinate the preparation of donor reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, including value proposition statements and achievements.
  • Partnership and Coordination: Support the organization of donor meetings, briefings, and events. Contribute to visibility and advocacy materials such as flyers, presentations, and digital products that showcase WHO’s work in Jordan. Facilitate communication between WHO and other UN agencies and development partners, while supporting the coordination of Health Development Partners Forum meetings. Assist in capacity-building activities for WHO Jordan Country Office staff and government focal points as needed. Perform any other related tasks as required by the WHO Jordan Country Office.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to resource mobilization and reporting. Familiarity with donor requirements and reporting standards is essential. The candidate should demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment, as well as creativity in problem-solving. Strong judgment and decision-making skills are necessary for effective planning and organizing of tasks. Professionalism and self-management are critical attributes for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A degree in public health, international relations, social sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, or project management would be advantageous. Knowledge of health systems and policies, particularly in the context of Jordan, is preferred.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, or reporting within the health sector or international development context. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable. Proven track record in producing analytical reports and managing donor relationships will be considered an asset.

Languages:
The official language of Jordan is Arabic, and proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is widely spoken, especially in urban areas. Knowledge of additional languages such as French, German, Italian, or Spanish is considered a plus, but not required.

This position is a volunteer role with the United Nations, specifically under the UN Volunteer program. Volunteers in Jordan are entitled to a Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 2664, annual and learning leaves, free medical and life insurance, and access to various learning platforms.   • The living conditions in Jordan are generally stable, with good medical facilities available, particularly in Amman. The position may require occasional travel within the country for meetings and events.
