Job Overview:
The Grants Management Coordinator position is a critical role within DRC Sudan, based in Port Sudan. This position is responsible for overseeing the grants management process, ensuring that all donor communications are timely and effective, and that reports meet the required quality standards. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal guidelines. The role involves managing the grants management system, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the development of partnerships. The Grants Management Coordinator will also play a key role in facilitating communication between DRC and its donors, ensuring that all information flows smoothly and that all parties are kept informed of project statuses and developments. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Management Coordinator will have a diverse set of responsibilities, primarily divided into two main areas: Grants Support and Programme Support. In the Grants Support area, the coordinator will be responsible for delivering high-quality narrative reports that accurately reflect project progress. This includes addressing comments and issues on proposals or reports, ensuring coherence between financial and narrative reports, and maintaining the DRC grants management system. The coordinator will also support grant relationships with donors, manage hard-copy files for ongoing projects, and participate in grant meetings. In the Programme Support area, the coordinator will assist in administrative management, ensure project approvals and donor funding applications are submitted correctly, and maintain documentation for all submissions to relevant authorities. Additionally, the coordinator will support the development of partnerships and assist in capacity building and relationship management with implementing partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Grants Management Coordinator position must possess a university degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in programme administration, grants management, or a similar role within a national or international NGO is required. Candidates should have knowledge and experience working across multiple sectors, including protection, food security, WASH, and shelter. Strong attention to detail and methodical thinking are essential, as is a keen understanding of the complexities in the East Africa region. Excellent writing skills and proficiency in MS Word and Excel are also necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Social Sciences. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of grants management and the administrative processes involved in supporting humanitarian programs.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in programme administration, grants management, or a similar office role. Candidates should have a proven track record of working effectively in a national or international NGO context, with experience in narrative and financial reporting, as well as familiarity with various sectors such as protection and food security.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication with donors, stakeholders, and team members, as well as for the preparation of reports and documentation.

Additional Notes:
The position offers a one-year contract with the possibility of extension, contingent upon funding and performance. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for International staff or under the terms of employment for National Staff in Sudan. This position is graded at NM.G, and the expected start date is March 202
