Job Overview:
The position of Volunteer for the Pharmaceutical Market Intelligence Unit (PMIU) at WJCF involves supporting the tracking and analysis of global developments that impact pharmaceutical demand and supply chains in India. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in quantitative analyses using trade and market data, assist in structured conversations with pharmaceutical manufacturers and global health experts, and contribute to the drafting of insightful memos and briefs. Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the volunteer include:
  • Proactively tracking and synthesizing global developments in donor financing, government responses, procurement mechanisms, and regulatory changes that affect Indian pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Supporting quantitative analyses using trade, procurement, and market data to assess demand shifts and supply-chain risks, including data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
  • Assisting in preparing for and documenting structured conversations with pharmaceutical manufacturers and global health experts, which involves conducting background research and synthesizing insights.
  • Contributing to the drafting of memos, briefs, and trackers that translate complex market signals into clear, actionable insights. This role requires a proactive approach to understanding the pharmaceutical landscape and the ability to communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant field or relevant coursework/research work experience. Exceptional analytical skills are essential, with the ability to work with both qualitative inputs (such as policy documents and interviews) and quantitative data (including trade, procurement, and market datasets). A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required, and familiarity with data analysis or visualization tools such as R, Stata, Python, Tableau, or Power BI is considered an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, structured insights. An entrepreneurial mindset is also important, including the ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives.

Educational Background:
