Job Overview:
The Protection and Education Coordinator is responsible for the effective execution of education and protection projects in the Gaza Strip, reporting directly to the Area Director. This role involves coordinating daily project activities, ensuring they align with strategic goals, leading field teams, monitoring progress, and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders. The coordinator must navigate complex regulatory and access challenges to ensure successful program delivery, focusing on both immediate humanitarian needs and longer-term programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Protection and Education Coordinator include implementing project activities as directed by the Area Director, establishing relationships with community partners, addressing operational challenges, and ensuring effective communication within the team. The coordinator will oversee project management, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of milestones, monitor the work of implementing partners, and support financial and administrative management in line with RI policies. Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to donor reporting, conduct field visits, and participate in monitoring and evaluation activities. They will also manage program staff, provide mentorship, and ensure adherence to RI's code of conduct and safeguarding policies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's level education in a relevant field or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience. A minimum of three years of progressive experience in program management is required, with proven experience in Protection and Education in emergency programming. Experience working with local partners, managing institutional funded projects, and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently are essential. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are necessary, along with the ability to work in a multicultural setting and conduct capacity-building activities.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field or a Bachelor's degree with significant work experience in program management, particularly in Protection and Education sectors. Educational qualifications should reflect a strong foundation in humanitarian principles and project management.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of progressive experience in program management, particularly in emergency contexts. Experience in Protection and Education programming, working with local partners, and managing institutional funded projects is crucial. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Additional language skills relevant to the local context may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
This position involves a travel commitment of approximately 30% of the time to project sites. The role is classified under Program Management and Leadership, with no direct budget responsibility.
