Job Overview:
The Consultant for Donor Reporting and Proposal Development will play a crucial role in supporting the UNICEF Country Office in Maputo. The primary responsibilities include report and proposal writing, preparation of presentations, and editing documents for both internal and external use. The consultant will work closely with the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Unit, specifically within the Advocacy, Communications, and Partnerships team. The goal is to develop and deliver high-quality written materials, including donor reports and proposals, ensuring they meet UNICEF's standards and donor requirements. The consultant will also be responsible for maintaining a schedule for timely submissions and ensuring that all documents are aligned with best practices in result-based reporting. This position requires a strong commitment to clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all written communications, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: editing and proofreading approximately 20 to 25 donor reports per quarter, which may range from 2 to 30 pages; editing proposals, including EU and ECHO proposals; and preparing other donor-related materials such as internal reports and thematic reports. The consultant will ensure that all documents are fact-checked for accuracy and completeness, restructure and rewrite text for clarity and continuity, and ensure compliance with UNICEF's style guide. Additionally, the consultant will develop and maintain a schedule for document submissions, work closely with responsible officers for revisions, and ensure that all materials are impactful and free of jargon. The consultant will also be tasked with identifying and flagging potential sensitivities in the documents and proposing resolutions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Development Studies, or Social Sciences such as Sociology, Political Science, or Economics. Additionally, candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in donor reporting and/or grants management, with a focus on result-based management and reporting. Exceptional narrative and technical writing skills in English are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Development Studies, or Social Sciences is required. This educational background provides the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively engage in donor reporting and proposal development, ensuring that the consultant can meet the demands of the role and contribute to UNICEF's mission.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, particularly in donor reporting and grants management.
