Job Overview:

The internship is full-time and unpaid, lasting between two to six months, depending on the needs of the division. Interns are expected to work five days a week, totaling 35 hours, under the supervision of the Chief of the DRS and relevant officers. The role may involve both in-person and remote work, with remote arrangements considered on a case-by-case basis. Interns will engage in various tasks that align with their academic background and the specific needs of the office, providing a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the workings of the United Nations and its efforts in disaster risk reduction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a range of tasks that may include: contributing to quantitative and qualitative analyses of the socio-economic impacts of disasters; assisting in the organization of international conferences and meetings related to disaster risk reduction; conducting research and compiling data to support ongoing projects; preparing reports and presentations as required; and performing other ad hoc tasks assigned by the DRS and the division. Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
