The OSCE POiD works closely with various international organizations, including the EU and UNDP, to implement projects that address critical issues in the region. The office focuses on economic and environmental activities, particularly in relation to the remediation of uranium legacy sites in Central Asia. The organization aims to engage and inform stakeholders about the remediation of uranium tailings, maximizing the benefits of such projects for affected populations. The OSCE POiD has been operational for several years and employs a diverse team of professionals dedicated to fostering cooperation and sustainable development in the region.

Job Overview:
The Curatorial Consultant for Museum Concept Development will play a crucial role in the establishment of a Museum on the History of Uranium Mining in Tajikistan, located in Buston. This position involves leading and coordinating the curatorial development and content production for the museum, ensuring a coherent narrative and production-ready content. The consultant will work closely with the Museum Designer and key stakeholders to align the museum's content with the approved concept. The assignment is expected to last for 70 days, with specific phases focusing on storyline development, core content creation, production-ready content packaging, and post-opening documentation. The consultant will be responsible for overseeing the entire content production process, from initial planning to final delivery, while ensuring effective collaboration with local teams and adherence to project timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake a series of tasks divided into four phases. In Phase 1, the consultant will participate in kick-off meetings, review existing materials, develop the museum narrative, and prepare a content production plan. Phase 2 will involve finalizing texts in multiple languages, drafting exhibition texts, and developing scripts for educational installations. In Phase 3, the consultant will finalize all texts, deliver a digital archive, and support the integration of content with design elements. Finally, in Phase 4, the consultant will compile a final report documenting outputs and ensure the handover of the content package to the OSCE POiD and the Museum host institution. Throughout these phases, the consultant will be responsible for quality assurance and ensuring that all content aligns with the museum's educational objectives and design concepts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in museology, cultural management, history, art, visual culture, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of three years of professional experience in cultural development and exhibition content production is required. The consultant should have knowledge of exhibition development, including the creation of storylines and interpretive texts, as well as experience in archival research and content rights management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, and the ability to work with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds while maintaining impartiality.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as museology, cultural management, history, art, or visual culture is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of museum curation and content development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in cultural development and the production of exhibition content. This experience should include working with diverse audiences and developing educational and interactive components for exhibitions. Familiarity with archival research and managing content rights and permissions is also essential.

Languages:
Professional fluency in Tajik and Russian is mandatory, with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. A working knowledge of English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate collaboration with international partners and stakeholders.
