Job Overview:
The Gender in Humanitarian Action (GIHA) Coordination Analyst position at UN Women in Ukraine is designed to support the coordination of gender-focused humanitarian efforts in response to the ongoing crisis. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the UN Women Country Representative and the Head of Humanitarian Programme, focusing on integrating gender considerations into humanitarian response plans and ensuring that the needs of women and girls are prioritized. This role involves providing technical assistance on gender in humanitarian action, supporting the GiHA Working Group, and facilitating the integration of gender throughout the humanitarian response cycle. The analyst will also contribute to capacity building initiatives, knowledge development, and advocacy efforts to promote gender equality in humanitarian contexts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the GIHA Coordination Analyst include coordinating and supporting the GiHA Working Group, providing gender technical support to humanitarian response actors, and facilitating the integration of gender throughout the humanitarian response cycle. The analyst will review humanitarian programme cycle outputs, support capacity building initiatives for various stakeholders, and contribute to knowledge building on gender in humanitarian action. Additionally, the analyst will support advocacy and communications efforts, develop key advocacy messages, and provide program support and coordination to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian programming. The role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of humanitarian principles, and the ability to advocate for gender equality in humanitarian contexts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) is considered an advantage. The position requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in implementing gender-responsive programmes, particularly in the humanitarian-development nexus, as well as experience in humanitarian coordination, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building activities focused on gender and protection.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, or international development. Alternatively, a first-level university degree along with two additional years of qualifying experience may suffice. A project/programme management certification is a plus, indicating a strong foundation in managing projects effectively within the humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in implementing gender-responsive programmes, with a focus on gender-targeted programming across the humanitarian-development nexus. Candidates should have experience in humanitarian coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building activities, particularly related to gender and protection in humanitarian programmes. Experience in coaching or training partners and humanitarian actors on gender equality concepts is essential, as well as experience in building partnerships with civil society organizations, INGOs, governments, and donors.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and would enhance the candidate's profile for this role.
