Job Overview:
The Handyman position at the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is intended for individuals who are willing to serve on a short-term basis as part of a roster. The selected candidates will be contacted based on operational needs. The role primarily involves supporting the Fund Administration Unit (FAU) and Materials Management Unit (MMU) in their daily activities. This includes a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks essential for the upkeep of the office premises and surrounding areas. The Handyman will be responsible for ensuring that the office environment is clean, safe, and well-maintained, which is crucial for the smooth operation of the office. The position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a willingness to take on various tasks as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of the work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Handyman will report to the National Building Maintenance Officer and will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: cleaning concrete drainage channels and walkways; assisting with snow and ice removal from outside the office perimeter; loading and unloading equipment and materials; sweeping the office territory and removing leaves; cleaning leaves and debris from gutters and drains; caring for the office garden, which includes watering, seasonal cutting, and fertilizing; and performing other duties as required by the supervisor. The role demands a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt to various tasks that may arise in the course of daily operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess at least three years of relevant working experience in gardening, irrigation, and street cleaning. Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work (specifically with 220V and low-current equipment) are essential. Experience working with international organizations is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, excellent physical ability, and strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail. A willingness to develop skills and knowledge, adaptability to change, and a positive, approachable manner are also important. The ability to work under limited supervision while delivering quality work is crucial, as is the capacity to work effectively as part of a diverse team.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. Experience:

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as short-term/temporary, with a monthly remuneration of 444.08 EUR, subject to social security deductions. The OSCE retains the discretion to re-advertise or cancel the vacancy, and candidates should be aware that expenses related to travel for interviews, tests, visas, and relocation are not reimbursed. Appointments are subject to medical clearance, and the mandatory retirement age for contracted positions is 65 years.
